Scope
This Standard specifies requirements for polymeric cable protection covers for underground electric power cable systems.
Application
Polymeric cable protection covers
(a) provide increased protection for underground cables and enclosures against accidental mechanical damage; and
(b) serve as a physical barrier as well as a visual warning of the presence of electric cables. Polymeric cable protection covers are not intended to eliminate all types of mechanical damage to underground cables.
