Abstract
Specifies the design performance, photometric, electrical and mechanical requirements for lighting equipment for bicycles intended for use on public roads. The Standard does not apply to reflectors. Includes test methods for resistance to solvents, vibration, heat, moisture and corrosion, as well as methods for determining the luminous intensity of lamps. Also includes the characteristics of some common filament bulbs. The Standard is based on ISO 6742.1.
Scope
This Standard specifies the design performance, photometric, electrical, mechanical and marking requirements for lighting equipment for bicycles intended for use on public roads.
This Standard does not apply to reflectors (see AS 2142).
Application
All lamps shall comply with the requirements of Section 2, and with the requirements of the following Sections, as applicable:
