Abstract

This Interim Standard outlines the relevant details of the 'curriculum modules' and 'work performance modules' that support the training/learning structure set out in Section 3 of Part 2. These details apply to all training providers and learners involved in the training/learning activities for achieving the EEHA Units of Competency or corresponding New Zealand Unit Standards.

Scope

This Interim Standard outlines the relevant details of the curriculum modules and work performance modules that support the training/learning structure set out in Section 3 of Part 2.

Application

This Interim Standard applies to all training providers and learners involved in the training/learning activities for achieving the EEHA Units of Competency or the corresponding New Zealand Unit Standards, which are essential for the industry sectors dealing with explosion-protected electrical equipment for hazardous areas and cover the following work functions:
(a) Producing, processing or servicing functions in a hazardous area and not directly involved in installing, maintaining or repairing explosion-protected equipment and systems.
(b) Installing and maintaining explosion-protected equipment and systems in the hazardous area.
(c) Overhauling, repairing and modifying explosion-protected equipment.
(d) Developing/designing and maintaining explosion-protection strategies.
(e) Inspecting hazardous area equipment, systems and installations.
