Specifies the essential electrical properties of linearly polarized antennas for domestic use within the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz and the conditions and methods of measurement of electrical performance parameters for these antennas and methods or procedures for relevant environmental tests. Uniform presentation of antenna performance specifications and a standard format for individual antenna specification sheets are also discussed. The Standard is technically identical with IEC 597 Parts 1 to 4 except for the mechanical properties included in Part 1 of the Standard.

This Standard applies to the performance and methods of measurement of fixed receiving antennas for use with radio and television broadcast receiving equipment operating within the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz.
