Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Proposes requirements for copper brazed steel tubes, 4.75 mm and over in outside diameter. Covers material, process of manufacture, condition of tubes, packaging, testing and permissible variation in wall thickness, outside diamter and length.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies requirements for copper brazed steel tubes 4.75 mm and over in outside diameter. These tubes are suitable for general engineering uses, particularly in the automobile, refrigeration and stovemaking industries for instrument lines, fuel lines, brake lines, oil lines, heating and cooling units and the like.NOTES: 1 Where a Standard for a particular application does not exist it is recommended that the use of this material be limited to 200¦C.2 Standard sizes of copper-brazed steel tubes produced in Australia are given in Appendix A.3 The incidental internal copper coating on copper brazed steel tubes has the potential to sour petrol under extended static conditions, i.e. non-use.
