    Provides guidance with regard to the safety of personnel working with sulphur hexafluoride (SF(sub)6(/sub)) during normal and abnormal service conditions. This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from IEC 1634:1995.

    Up to now there has been no international document giving guidance with regard to the safety of personnel working with SF6. To give such guidance is the aim of this report. It is impossible to incorporate all the existing instructions relating to in this report, SF6 which considers mainly safety aspects and gives basic information and guidelines for working with used in switchgear and controlgear during normal and abnormal service SF6 conditions. These recommendations should be considered as the minimum necessary to ensure thesafety of personnel who work with SF6. This report is concerned with switchgear and controlgear filled with industrially pure SF6 gas.
