This Standard specifies the requirements for bidets intended for use with douche spray below the rim of the bowl, and to bidettes that can be fitted with over-the-rim taps. Bidets are not suitable for direct connection to the potable water supply. Bidettes with the prescribed minimum air gap measured after tapware has been fitted may be directly connected to the potable water supply.Tapware and the relevant componentry is not covered in this Standard.
