Provides specific requirements for portable rechargeable fire extinguishers of the wet-chemical type. General requirements for portable fire extinguishers are given in Part 1.

This Standard specifies the requirements for portable rechargeable fire extinguishers of the wet-chemical type in which the wet chemical is expelled by inert gas or air stored under pressure in the body of the extinguisher.NOTE: Some extinguishing agents may be classified by regulatory authorities as being hazardous. In such cases these authorities may require special markings on containers and special precautions to be taken when disposing of the extinguishants and their containers.
