This Standard specifies dimensional tolerances and physical and mechanical properties for mat-formed particleboard, which is classified into standard, high moisture resistant, flooring and treated particleboards. Appendices provide information on methods of compliance, purchasing guidelines, storage and handling, size or pack quantity combinations, and selection and application of screw fasteners.

This Standard specifies tolerances on dimensions, and physical and mechanical properties for mat-formed particleboard. This Standard does not apply to particleboard manufactured by the extrusion process.NOTES:1 Alternative methods for demonstrating compliance with this Standard are given in Appendix A.2 Appendix B contains information that should be supplied by the purchaser at the time of inquiry or order.3 Appendix C describes recommended practices for the handling and storage of particleboard.4 Appendix D provides information on preferred sheet dimensions and pack quantities.5 Appendix E describes recommended practices for selection and application of screw fasteners.Particleboard shall comply with Section 2 and with the following Sections, as applicable to type:(a) Standard particleboard . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
