Specifies construction, tests, current rating and duty cycle of welding cables using copper conductors and covered with R-CSP-90 or R-CPE-90 elastomer, or V-90 PVC compound.

This Standard applies to flexible cables for use with arc welding equipment rated in accordance with AS 1966.Current ratings are assigned for a range of operating duty cycles for each cable size. Selection of the cable should be made in accordance with the anticipated duty cycle.NOTE: Purchasing guidelines are given in Appendix A.
