Specifies essential safety requirements for residual current-operated circuit-breakers functionally independent of line voltage intended for household and similar uses for approval and test purposes. This Standard is technically equivalent to and reproduced from IEC 1008-2-1:1990. In Australia This Standard will replace AS 3190-1994, in part, ten years from date of publication.

This clause of Part 1 is applicable, except as follows:Replace the first paragraph by the following:This International Standard applies to RCCB's functionally independent of line voltage, for household and similar uses, not incorporating overcurrent protection, for rated voltages not exceeding 440 V a.c and rated currents not exceeding 125 A, intended principally for protection against electric shock hazard.
