Specifies minimum requirements for the operation and maintenance of air-handling and water systems in buildings to assist in the control of microorganisms. It does not apply to sole occupancy dwellings.

This Standard specifies minimum requirements for the operation and maintenance of air-handling and water systems of buildings, other than sole occupancy dwellings. It does not include refrigerated room air-conditioners and non-ducted split systems.NOTES:1 In the event of an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease, special action is necessary. This will be advised by the health authorities.2 Further information on the control of microbial growth in air-handling and water systems of buildings is given in SAA/SNZ HB32.3 Design, installation and commissioning requirements are given in AS/NZS 3666.1.
