This Interim Standard specifies requirements for fittings to be used with polyethylene pipe manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 4130. This Standard is applicable to fittings manufactured for the conveyance of water, gaseous fluids and other fluids including compressed air.

This Standard is applicable to fittings manufactured for the conveyance of water, gaseous fuels, and other fluids including compressed air. For continuous use at temperatures above 40C refer to the manufacturer.The requirements of Section 1 apply to fittings manufactured to comply with all Sections of the Standard except where subsequent sections detail or exempt specific requirements.Installation requirements are included in AS 2033, AS 3723 and AS 4041 as appropriate.NOTE: Advisory information on the means for demonstrating compliance with this Standard is given in Appendix A.
