Specifies requirements for the manufacture, characterization and verification of structural Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), and sets out dimensional tolerances, moisture content, veneer and bond quality, and structural properties to be determined for structural LVL. An appendix describes recommended practices for the storage and handling of structural LVL.

This Standard specifies manufacturing, in-grade structural characterization and structural verification requirements for structural Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) as a continuously glued assembly of veneers and for which structural design is performed in accordance with AS 1720.1 or NZS 3603.It is anticipated that additional design information specific to structural LVL will be included in AS 1720.1 and NZS 3603.
