1.1This practice identifies the method of presenting information on selected performance and physical characteristics of a residential vacuum cleaner.

1.2This information is intended to assist the consumer in comparing selected characteristics of vacuum cleaner models.

1.3It is also intended that this information be presented in a manner that is meaningful and understandable to the consumer.

1.4The characteristics are selected from those for which ASTM test methods have been developed.

1.5This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
