    Shackles similar to BS 3032, but using alloy steel twice as strong as mild steel and one and a half times as strong as higher tensile steel. Dee and bow shackles with four types of pin. Material, dimensions, heat treatment, workmanship, finish, screw threads, proof loading, marking, certification. Design for special (or unscheduled) shackles with different dimensions. Safe working loads 1 ton 2 cwt to 80 tons. Information with enquiry and order, notes on design, recommendations for contracts.

    Material, heat-treatment, workmanship, finish, screw threads, proof loading, marking and certification are specified. Tables of dimensions for dee and bow shackles are given. Design requirements are laid down for special (or unscheduled) shackles whose dimensions differ from those given in these tables.
