Details requirements for components and equipment designed and constructed to give fire resistance level not less than specified minimum. Excludes flammability requirements. Includes details of 19 mm, 180 mm, 150 mm, nominal diameter standard flame burners, guidance on design and use of torching flame burner, calibration procedure for standard flame burners, details of calorimeter and calculation of flame intensity and conversion tables. Illustrates details of 19 mm, 180 mm and schematic of 150 mm nominal diameter standard flame burners, detail of upper and lower plates showing interconnecting ports, diagram of typical torching flame test rig, details of Ni - Cr/Ni - Al thermocouple and flame intensity calorimeter.

This British Standard specifies requirements for all components and equipment (contained in designated fire zones) designed and constructed to provide a level of fire resistance not less than a specified minimum. It does not relate to flammability requirements.

The standard should also be read in conjunction with BS 3G 100-0.
