Specifies details of salt mist tests for two grades of severity. Suitable for aircraft equipment to determine resistance to corrosive effects of salt-laden atmospheres that exist at sea, in coastal areas in certain desert areas. First grade is for equipment exposed to severe salt contamination conditions, e.g. hovercraft, undercarriage bays, etc. Second grade for less exacting conditions where a salt-laden atmosphere will occasionally exist, e.g. cabins and equipment bays, etc.

This British Standard gives details of salt mist tests for two grades of severity, which may be applied to equipment in aircraft to determine their resistance to the corrosive effects of salt-laden atmospheres that exist at sea, in coastal areas and in certain desert areas. It should also be read in conjunction with BS 3G 100-0.
