Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies requirements for the arc welding of branch connections, butt joints, socket joints and fillet welds in carbon manganese, carbon and low alloy steel offshore and land pipelines, excluding longitudinal welds in the pipe and in the making of fittings but including related facilities such as the welding into pipelines of pigtraps, manifolds and valves. Applies to pipe of 3.2 mm thickness and larger, having a 21.3 mm outside diameter or greater. Also deals with the processes or combination of processes that are involved in semi-automatic, manual and mechanized arc welding. Does not apply to the welding of process plant pipework inside factory limits, nor to "hot-tap" welding on to pipelines in service and under commission or under internal pressure.
