NO CONTENTS SECTION

A method for ranking and quality control purposes using a collar and pin assembly.

This Part of BS 5350 describes a method for the determination of the static shear strength of anaerobic adhesives. It is applicable to anaerobic adhesives capable of polymerizing on a steel surface in the absence of air (oxygen).

The primary aim of this test is for ranking and quality control of anaerobic adhesives and reliance should not be placed on any test results for design purposes.

Design data should preferably be obtained from tests using the construction materials and configurations used in the actual design.

This test may be used for quality control of types of adhesives other than anaerobic, if considered suitable, provided that the curing conditions are defined.
