Identifies sampling procedures and plans for assessing whether the quality level of an entity complies with a declared value. Sampling plans are designed to obtain a risk of less than 5% of contradicting a correct declared quality level. Risk is 10% of failure to contradict an incorrect declared quality level which relates to the limiting quality ratio. Gives sampling plans which correspond to three levels of discriminatory ability. Sampling plans give, cover, but are not restricted to, examination of various products, for example; components and raw materials; end items; materials in process; operations; supplies in storage; data or records; maintenance operations, and administration procedures.
