The analysis method is intended for determining the lead content in rubber, rubber compounds, elastomers and ebonite by photometry. It is intended to be used in the case of lead contents up to 1000 mg/kg (0.1%). DIN 53599 Part 1 (determination by atomic absorption spectroscopy) is available as an alternative method, which should be given preference if the necessary equipment is available. To determine lead contents of 0,1%, DIN 53599 Part 2 is applicable (see also Explanations).
