Diese Norm gilt für das Errichten von Elektrofischereianlagen. Sie gilt nur in Verbindung mit den entsprechenden Normen der Reihe DIN VDE 0100. Daneben gilt für das Herstellen von Elektrofischereigeräten DIN VDE 0686 und für den Betrieb von Elektrofischereianlagen DIN VDE 0105 Teil 5. Bei Anlagen auf Seeschiffen gelten zusätzlich die Vorschriften des Germanischen Lloyd.
