This part of ISO 11592 establishes the basis for the determination of the maximum power for propulsion and the manoeuvring speed for occupant safety in engine-powered small craft less than 8 m length of hull. The following types of small craft are exempted from the application of this standard: - Personal water craft: for purposes of this standard, craft less than 4 m length of hull, with internal combustion engine/water jet or propeller drive, designed for sitting, standing or kneeling on, rather than sitting inside - Sailing craft - Canoes and kayaks.
