La prsente Norme internationale dfinit les rgles syntaxiques pour la prparation des messages destins tre changs entre les intervenants dans les domaines de l'administration, du commerce et du transport.
NOTE -- Pour les utilisateurs de la prsente Norme internationale, il convient de noter que les rgles de syntaxe qui y sont spcifies font partie du Rpertoire pour l'change de Donnes Commerciales des Nations Unies. Elles peuvent tre utilises dans toute application, mais les messages utilisant ces rgles de syntaxe ne peuvent tre rfrencs comme des messages EDIFACT que s'ils sont conformes aux quatre rgles et rpertoires de l'UNTDID (Rpertoire pour l'change de Donnes Commerciales des Nations Unies) et s'ils ont t approuvs par la Commission conomique pour l'Europe des Nations Unies (CEE/ONU).
