Die vorliegende Norm legt die Zusammensetzung, die Anforderungen an die Eigenschaften einschliesslich den elektrische Eigenschaften, Grenzabmasse und Formtoleranzen von Profilen und profilierten Drähten mit einem Durchmesser des umschreibenden Kreises von maximal 180 mm für die Anwendung in der Elektrotechnik fest. Der Ablauf der Probenentnahme, die Prüfverfahren zur Feststellung der Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen der Norm und die Lieferbedingungen sind ebenfalls festgelegt.
