Provides an introduction to widely used procedures which determine colour stability during colour material processing in plastics under the effects of heat and defines details common to various test procedures outlined in later parts of EN 12877. Test procedure selection is dependant on the plastic material to be coloured, the processing procedure and end-use criteria.
