Dieser Teil der Internationalen Norm IEC 60044 gilt für neu hergestellte Stromwandler zur Anwendung mit elektrischen Messgeräten und Schutzeinrichtungen bei Frequenzen zwischen 15 Hz und 100 Hz. Obwohl sich diese Anforderungen grundsätzlich auf Stromwandler mit getrennten Wicklungen beziehen, gelten sie auch, soweit anwendbar, für Stromwandler in Sparschaltung. Stromwandler, die für Mess- und Schutzzwecke vorgesehen sind, müssen allen Abschnitten dieser Norm entsprechen.
