EN 50268 legt das Prüfverfahren für die Messung der Rauchdichte von Kabeln und isolierten Leitungen fest, die unter definierten Bedingungen brennen. Das Prüfverfahren ist für Starkstromkabel, -leitungen oder LWL-Kabel geeignet. Teil 1 legt die Prüfeinrichtung und Teil 2 das Prüfverfahren fest. Diese Norm beinhaltet einen informativen Anhang für empfohlene Werte für die einzuhaltenden Anforderungen. ANMERKUNG: Erfahrungen haben gezeigt, dass für Kabel mit einem Aussendurchmesser von mehr als 70 mm das Prüfprotokoll nicht geeignet ist. In diesen Fällen sollte der Hersteller konsultiert werden.
