A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The state of the art of the knowledge of shear strength and behavior of reinforced and prestressed beams, deep beams, brackets, reinforced and prestressed concrete slabs, and other members is reviewed. Design criteria are discussed but specific design recommendations are not made. The report is divided into five chapters. The first two discuss the general concepts of shear in concrete. The third, fourth, and fifth chapters discuss shear with respect to beams, special members, and slabs, respectively.
