English

Gives the detection of corrosive substances in lubricating grease. As lubricating greases are used under a diversity of conditions, it is not possible here to specify either the temperature or the duration of the test, but it is recommended that the temperature be not higher than 20 degrees C below the drop or dropping-point of the sample. In conformity with prevailing practice copper has been specified as the test metal, but other metals may be used and in a form other than rolled strip if desired.
