Measures the tendency of insulating oil to oxidize under specified conditions. Uses the same apparatus and a similar procedure to those used to determine the oxidation stability of Inhibited Mineral Turbine Oil (IP 280). It differs from this test in that the test temperature is reduced to 100 degrees C, a solid copper metal catalyst is used, and the degree of deterioration is expressed as sludge and acidity.
