Measures the ability of an oil to separate entrained air. It is applied to hydraulic and turbine oils, but may also be used for other lubricating oils. It may be used for petroleum-base lubricants or for synthetic fluids such as phosphate esters and to determine the rate of release of other gases from oil when the gas pressure needs to be adjusted to maintain the same gas flow rate.
