Basic requirements and performance tests. Covers tables of the bridge type, which are of fixed height, and of the cantilever type capable of adjustment in height for use as overchair tables.

This British Standard specifies the basic requirements and performance tests for overbed tables of the cantilever and bridge types, the former capable of adjustment in height and the latter of fixed height.

Section2 covers overbed tables of the cantilever type and section3 covers overbed tables of the bridge type.

Adjustable height tables may be used as overchair tables.

Tables with tilting tops are not included in the scope of this standard.
