Describes a method for determining impact properties of rigid plastic materials in the form of disks or square pieces of standard dimensions, moulded directly or cut from sheets. This falling dart method is used for the assessment of plastic sheeting or mouldings under an impact stress applied at right angles to the plane of the sheet. Two methods of test are described and it covers references, definitions, staircase method, statistical method, principle, apparatus, test specimens, procedure and test report.
