Specifies materials used in the manufacture of component parts, together with such dimensions as are independent of individual clinical requirements. Provision is made for inguinal and scrotal trusses with fixed pads or adjustable pads (excluding sliding pads).

This British Standard specifies the materials used in the manufacture of component parts of surgical elastic band trusses, together with such dimensions as are independent of the individual clinical requirements. Provision is made for inguinal and scrotal elastic band trusses with fixed pads or adjustable pads (excluding sliding pads).

Requirements are included for woven webbing materials for use in the fabrication of elastic band trusses. Provision is made for elastic webbing of nominal 44mm (1¾ in) and 19mm (¾ in) widths, and non-elastic webbing of nominal 19mm width.
