Coverage includes construction, dimensions, adhesion, tensile strength, ageing resistance, low temperature, pressure testing, ozone cracking, resistance to liquids, non-kinking and marking. Also gives detailed tables.

This Part of BS 3682 specifies requirements for hose used in the compressed air systems of railway traction units and rolling stock.

Hose for use in compressed air systems is operated at pressures up to a maximum of 11.5 bar1) and within the temperature range − 25 °C to + 65 °C.
