Defines the requisites for pre-hardened and tempered carbon steel strip for the manufacture of springs. Relates to material from 0.1 mm to 2.65 mm inclusive in thickness and from 2 mm to 450 mm inclusive in width, provided in various levels of hardness, having any one of five edge conditions and any one of four surface finishes. Includes sections on definitions, designation system, steelmaking process, chemical composition, mechanical properties, edge conditions, surface finish, dimensional tolerances, freedom from defects, decarburization, non-metallic inclusions, number of tests, hardness test, bend test, retests, test certificates, inspection, packaging and identification.
