    Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

    Provides electrical safety requirements for independent electrically energized power supply indoor units supplying telecommunications apparatus within the scope of a product standard under Section 22(6) of the Telecommunications Act (1984). Applies to power supply units suchs as rechargers; battery eliminators; isolating transformers; rectifier units, including units integral with a mains plug; apparatus providing a central source of a ringing signal, or similar waveforms. Applies to power supply units that can be used for normal indoor environments. Additional requirements may be suitable for more severe environments, such as power supply units used in medical applications, outdoor installations and power supply units suitable for hazardous locations such as flammable atmospheres.
