List of references

Describes a neutral transfer format, NTF, which includes media-independent file and data record descriptions for information exchange; description of data elements, vectors and arrays containing character strings and numeric forms, and relationships between data elements; volume and header information which allows data interchange with minimal specific external description and five levels of interchange, related to complexity of data. NTF facilitates transfer of spatial and related aspatial information between computer systems such as digital topographic maps, digital terrain models and geographic database contents. Provides the means for describing contents of data records, but does not define contents.
