Defines requirements for couplings for transmitting power between the rotating shafts of two machines for general purpose use in the petroleum and natural gas industries. Applications usually need couplings to transmit power at speeds not above 4000 r/min, between machines where the first lateral critical speed is higher than the running speed range (stiff-shaft machines). May be used outside these limits, by agreement.
