This standard in conjunction with the documents referred to herein, specifies the test procedures that are to be carried out on ALL rotating electrical machinery for HM Surface Ships and Submarines, except for that associated with domestic machinery, workshop machinery, etc covered in NES 635.

This is a redesignation of NES 629. (01/2001) This standard is obsolescent because it is no longer required for the procurement of new equipment but is retained for maintenance purpose in support of existing in-service equipment. (04/2010)
