This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 204. The calculation procedure in this Standard relates to drives consisting of V-belts according to DIN 2215 and V-belt pulleys according to DIN 2217. The calculation applies to the drives with 2 pulleys. The correct dimensioning of a V-belt drive depends on a number of factors and environmental conditions which cannot be completely covered within the scope of this Standard. Users are therefore urged, particularly when difficult transmission problems are involved, to take account of the experience acquired by firms in this specialized field, i.e. the manufacturers of V-belts and drives.
