Glossary

Describes how suppliers of telecommunications equipment may obtain Common Language coding services. These services include the development and maintenance of CLEI codes, Continuing Property Records (CPR) and bar code label data. These codes and records are an integral part of the equipment procurement process and are typically used by Bellcore's customers to support their own planning, circuit design and provisioning, investment and inventory tracking management, equipment maintenance, ordering, and other telecommunications service providing functions in manual process and mechanized operations systems. Includes guidelines for submitting technical information used in the coding process and marking equipment with appropriate CLEI codes.
