Deze norm geeft de specifieke gegevens van de staalkabeltypen 2,3,4 en 5 volgens NEN 3575. Dit zijn 6- en 8-strengs staalkabelconstructies. De 8-strengsconstructies zijn niet draaiarm. (Voor de draaiarme uitvoering, zie NEN 2500). De norm is van toepassing op staalkabels voor algemeen gebruik. De norm is niet van toepassing op mijnkabels en kabels voor luchtvaart, zweefbanen en voorgespannen beton.
