La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode de détermination de l'alcalinité du latex de caoutchouc naturel contenant des agents de préservation et qui a été soumis à un procédé quelconque de concentration. La méthode ne convient pas nécessairement aux latex d'origine naturelle autres que celui de l'Hevea brasiliensis ou aux latex de caoutchouc de synthèse, aux mélanges de latex, au latex vulcanisé ou aux dispersions artificielles de caoutchouc.
