Le présent document décrit une méthode de dosage du soufre dans les fuel-oils et les distillats légers ou moyens, par combustion et détection coulométrique du SO[2] formé. La méthode s'applique à des produits dont les teneurs en soufre sont comprises entre 0,05% et 4% en masse. La présence d'azote à plus de 1% en masse interfère dans la mesure coulométrique. Cette interférence est limitée par addition d'azoture de sodium dans la cellule de titration (voir article 9: "interférence de l'azote").
