Le présent document a pour objet de décrire une méthode qui permette de mesurer le pouvoir d'arrêt absolu d'un milieu filtrant ou d'une cartouche filtrante de longueur au plus égale à 260 mm, appliqué à la filtration des fluides, à l'exclusion des fluides couverts par d'autres séries de normes et notamment les fluides hydrauliques de puissance, les lubrifiants et les carburants. Elle s'applique lorsque le PAA présumé est compris entre 2 [mu]m et 100 [mu]m. Elle ne s'applique pas aux milieux filtrants et aux cartouches filtrant en profondeur.
