Festgelegt sind die sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen an den Bau und die Arbeitsweise von Abscherventilen an Zapfsäulen, druckversorgten Zapfsäulen und/oder Nebenzapfstellen, die an Tankstellen für die Abgabe von flüssigen Kraftstoffen in Tanks von Automobilen, Booten und Leichtflugzeugen oder in tragbare Behälter installiert sind. Weiters sind auch Hinweise für den Umweltschutz enthalten. Detailliert behandelt sind neben den Werkstoffen auch die Betriebsanforderungen, die Prüfungen sowie die Kennzeichnung. Hinweise für den Inhalt von Installations- und Gebrauchsanweisungen sind gegeben.
