Er legt für die Einrichtung zum Empfang von Tonsignalen für Unterhaltungszwecke Anforderungen hinsichtlich Konstruktion, Gestaltung, Eigenschaften, Leistung, Prüfverfahren, Kennzeichnung und Benutzerinformationen fest. Die Anforderungen dieser Norm berücksichtigen ergonomische Wechselwirkungen zwischen Benutzer, den Audiokapselgehörschützern für Unterhaltungszwecke und, wo möglich, der Arbeitsumgebung, in der die Kapselgehörschützer wahrscheinlich benutzt werden (siehe Anhang ZA dieser Norm und EN 458).
